OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Senior Campaign Manager position is part of the management team for the Center for Transformational Organizing. This position manages CTO support for comprehensive campaigns for union membership growth. The Senior Campaign Manager will have enough of a diverse range of union and community campaigning and organizing experience to be able to, as part of a team, assist in directing, leading and training a team of researchers and organizers to plan and implement a comprehensive campaign in coordination with affiliate union partners.

This position will report to the Deputy Director of the CTO. The Senior Campaign Manager will be involved in supervisory and personnel decisions.

Responsibilities:
● Develops and coordinates industry, corporate and investor research, including moving proposals through the approval and implementation process within the CTO, AFL-CIO and affiliates, and community partners.
● Assists in leading CTO staff to identify and develop multi-union strategic initiatives for growth.
● Ability to develop and execute comprehensive campaign strategies grounded in building worker-power and strengthening our community partnerships.
● Helps formulate departmental planning and budgeting.
● Promotes and demonstrates a comprehensive approach to organizing strategy.
● Helps develop and implement training strategy and program to build capacity for strategic research and comprehensive campaigns throughout the labor movement.
● Recruits and recommends staff for hiring.
● Obtains decisions on internal policy and resources related to campaign work.
● Moves CTO and relevant AFL-CIO programs with affiliate staff and community partners.
● Maintains relationships with AFL-CIO, affiliate union staff, community partners, outside consultants, academic, and issue activists.
● Can lead long-term planning around campaigns and programs within the CTO and in conjunction with senior CTO and affiliate staff.
● Effectively communicates CTO organizing goals to elected leadership of local and national affiliate staff.
● Travel as needed.
● Other duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
● At least ten years of relevant work experience and demonstrated success, including at least five years of demonstrated strategic campaign experience in the labor movement.
● Management training and experience preferred. Proven ability to lead by example and foster mentoring relationships required.
● Strong interpersonal, communication, and strategic planning skills.
● Ability to manage relationships in complex political and sensitive organizational situations.
● High level of individual motivation.
● Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, work well under pressure, and manage multiple priorities and projects effectively.
● Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
● Excellent listening, interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills.
● Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive relationships and effectively communicate with AFL-CIO officers, affiliates, directors, managers, employees, and outside contacts.
● Demonstrated ability to develop comprehensive strategies that are intersectional from the start, grounded in equity.
● Demonstrated ability to build and motivate teams and work effectively in a team environment in both a lead and support role.
● Commitment to improving equity for under-represented groups in the labor movement.
● Ability to work independently within the context of a plan.
● While we strive to maintain a healthy and sustainable work/life balance, the position may sometimes require long and extended hours.
● Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred.
